2015 SEASON IN REVIEW . . .

July 27, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31's season ended with a 4-1 loss to Gloucester Twp. Post 281 in the New Jersey State Final Eight Tournament at Moody Park in Ewing.

Post 31 ended the season with a record of 26-7-1 and captured the 29th MCALL pennant in team history.

July 26, 2015 - Despite tying a team record by committing eight errors, Hamilton Post 31 defeated BCAL Bears Post 170, 7-6, in 10 innings in the losers' bracket of the New Jersey Final Eight tournament at Moody Park.

An error in the sixth inning led to three unearned runs to cut Hamilton's lead to 5-3, then four errors in the ninth forced extra innings. A single by Ryan Sparks broke a 5-5 tie, then Nick Giori's double brought home what proved to be the winning run.

Kyle Muller pitched nine innings, allowing just five hits while striking out six, to improve to 5-2. Nick Maglione worked the 10th inning to record his third save of the season.

July 25, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 lost to Brooklawn Post 72, 6-0, in the opening game of the New Jersey Final Eight tournament at Moody Park.

July 21, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 earned a berth in the New Jersey State Final Eight Tournament by defeating Passaic Post 359, 13-3, in the winners'-bracket final of the District 2 Tournament at Teener Field in Union.

Steven Loney pitched 3.1 innings of hitless relief, striking out four, as Post 31 broke open a 3-3 game by scoring 10 unanswered runs. A run-scoring single by Shane Keledy, an RBI double by Anthony Peroni, and a two-run single by Matt Ricci sparked a four-run fourth inning, and an RBI double by Matthew Tola and a two-run double by Steven Moticha highlighted a three-run sixth that virtually put the game away. Keledy's double in the seventh scored two runs and Tola's single completed the scoring by invoking the 10-run rule.

Hamilton opens play at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25, against Brooklawn Post 72 at Moody Park in Ewing.

July 19, 2015 - Kyle Muller threw the 16th no-hitter in Hamilton Post 31 history and the first ever in postseason play as Hamilton defeated Mount Olive, 10-0, in the District 2 Tournament at Teener Field in Union.

Muller walked only two batters in the game which was stopped after seven innings because of the 10-run rule.

Jake Beyer hit a two-run homer for Post 31, and Matt Ricci and Nick Giori had two RBIs apiece.

July 18, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth inning and held on to defeat Pt. Pleasant Boro, 4-3, in the opening game of the District 2 Tournament at Teener Field in Union.

With one out in the ninth, Shane Keledy and Matthew Tola singled. Anthony Peroni's single scored Keledy and moved Tola to third to tie the game, then Matt Ricci singled to drive in Tola. One out later, Peroni scored on the front end of a double steal.

After Pt. Pleasant Boro pulled to within one run in the bottom of the ninth, Kyle Muller came in to get the final two outs and record his second save of the season.

July 14, 2015 - Anthony Francioso struck out five batters in five innings of work as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Princeton Post 218, 7-2, at Rich Giallella Field.

The victory gives Post 31 a 20-4 league record at the end of the regular season and means Hamilton will face Broad St. Park Post 313 in a special one-game playoff to determine the league champion.

July 13, 2015 - Nick Maglione tossed a complete game and Matt Ricci had four RBIs as Hamilton Post 31 defeated North Hamilton, 12-1, at Nottingham High.

Maglione allowed just five hits while striking out two and walking none in his first start of the season. Ricci's two-run single in the second inning gave Hamilton a 6-0 lead and his two-run single in the sixth completed the scoring.

Matthew Tola had three hits and three RBIs for Post 31.

July 12, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 was defeated, 8-2, by Broad St. Park Post 313 at Hamilton High in a continuation of a game suspended from July 8. The defeat ended a nine-game league winning streak for Post 31.

July 11, 2015 - Steven Moticha's two-run double in the top of the tenth inning broke open a tie game and Hamilton Post 31 went on to defeat Hightstown Post 148, 6-3, at Rich Giallella Field.

With one out in the tenth, Ryan Sparks and Nick Giori singled, and Anthony Francioso followed with a walk to load the bases. Moticha then drilled a ball to deep left-center to score Sparks and Giori. One out later, Shane Keledy's two-out single plated Francioso and Moticha.

Kyle Muller pitched 3.1 innings of relief to earn the victory.

July 10, 2015 - David Stec allowed three hits in seven innings of work and Ryan Sparks' sacrifice fly plated the eventual winning run in the top of the eighth as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Lawrence Post 414, 3-1, at Eggerts Crossing Field.

Stec allowed only an unearned run in his second start of the season to gain his third win of the year. Nick Maglione pitched a scoreless eighth for his third save.

After Sparks drove in Alec Gerasimowicz to break a 1-1 tie, Steven Moticha's two-out single scored Matt Ricci with an insurance run.

July 9, 2015 - Anthony Francioso pitched a one-hitter, striking out five, as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Trenton Post 93, 5-0, at Rich Giallella Field.

Francioso was in complete control of the game from start to finish, allowing just a bloop single over the pitcher's mound with two outs in the second inning. From that point, Francioso retired the final 16 batters he faced.

Shane Keledy, Matt Ricci, and David Stec had RBIs for Hamilton.

July 8, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 trailed Broad St. Park Post 313, 4-1, in the fourth inning at Hamilton High when the game was suspended by rain. The game will be resumed on Sunday, July 12, at 11 a.m.

July 7, 2015 - Nick Giori's two-out single in the top of the eighth inning scored Matt Ricci with what turned out to be the winning run as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Bordentown Post 26, 4-3, at Gilder Park.

After Bordentown tied the game with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Ricci singled to right field with one out in the eighth and advanced to second on Alec Gerasimowicz's groundout. Giori then lined the first pitch to right-center to plate Ricci.

Matthew Tola had three hits for Post 31. David Stec pitched 1.2 innings in relief of Nick Maglione to record the victory.

July 6, 2015 - Anthony Francioso's two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Alec Gerasimowicz with the winning run as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Hopewell Post 339, 1-0, at Rich Giallella Field.

With two outs in the ninth, Nick Giori singled and Gerasimowicz went in as a pinch-runner. He promplty stole second, then scored on Francioso's grounder through the left side.

Sean O'Boyle worked all nine innings, allowing just three hits, to earn the victory.

July 3, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Puerto Rico, 9-6, in the Hall of Fame Classic in Binghamton, N.Y.

Kyle Muller struck out eight batters in 6.2 innings of work, while Nick Maglione (3-0) retired all six batters he faced to record the victory.

July 3, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 lost to Hillcrest (N.Y.) Post 1194, 9-1, in the Hall of Fame Classic in Binghamton, N.Y. It was Post 31's worst margin of defeat since 2012.

July 2, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 rallied from a 10-4 deficit to tie New London (Conn.) Post 1, 10-10, in a game suspended in the top of the ninth inning because of darkness in the Hall of Fame Classic in Binghamton, N.Y.

Matt Ricci had three hits and four RBIs for Post 31, while Ryan Sparks threw three scoreless innings of relief.

July 1, 2015 - Matthew Tola drove in three runs and Steven Loney allowed just one hit over four innings as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Horseheads (N.Y.) Post 442, 10-0, in the opening game of the Hall of Fame Classic in Binghamton, N.Y.

June 29, 2015 - Sean O'Boyle threw Post 31's first no-hitter in over three years as Hamilton defeated South Brunswick Post 401, 14-0, at Crossroads South.

O'Boyle faced the minimum 15 batters in the game which was stopped after five innings because of the 10-run rule. The first batter he faced reached on an error, and O'Boyle induced the next batter to ground into a double play. O'Boyle struck out eight in tossing the first Hamilton no-hitter since Carston Raab on June 26, 2012, against Trenton Post 93.

Anthony Peroni had three RBIs and Matthew Tola two for Post 31.

June 27, 2015 - Anthony Francioso allowed three hits and two unearned runs over six innings as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Ewing Post 314, 11-3, at Moody Park.

Francioso was victimized by shoddy defense and gave up two runs in the first inning, but retired 16 of the final 20 batters he faced to raise his record to 4-0.

Matt Ricci, Matthew Tola, and Shane Keledy drove in two runs apiece for Post 31.

June 26, 2015 - Shane Keledy had two hits, scored three runs, and drove in another as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Allentown, 10-3, at Rich Giallella Field.

Matt Ricci had three RBIs for Post 31, while Matthew Tola added a pair. Ricci's two-out, two-run single in the first inning opened the scoring, and Tola's two-out, two-run single in the second extended Hamilton's lead to 5-0. Keledy, Ricci, Nick Giori, and Ryan Sparks had RBIs in a five-run fourth which broke the game open.

Kyle Muller (2-1) was the winning pitcher.

June 24, 2015 - Matthew Tola's two-out single in the bottom of the seventh plated Steven Moticha with the winning run as Hamilton Post 31 defeated West Windsor-Plainsboro, 5-4, at Rich Giallella Field.

After WW-P tied the game in the top of the seventh, Moticha led off the bottom of the frame with a single to left, then was sacrificed to second by Jake Beyer. After a groundout which failed to advance Moticha, Tola lined a 3-2 pitch into right-center for the game-winner.

Nick Maglione (2-0) was the winning pitcher.

June 22, 2015 - Nick Giori had three hits and two RBIs as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Princeton Post 218, 10-5, at Smoyer Park.

Matt Ricci had two hits and two RBIs, while Jake Beyer and Shane Keledy each had two hits and an RBI for Post 31.

Anthony Francioso worked five innings, allowing five hits and three unearned runs, to move his record to 3-0.

June 20, 2015 - Matt Ricci drove in two runs and Shane Keledy scored four times as Hamilton Post 31 defeated South Brunswick Post 401, 11-1, at Rich Giallella Field.

Ricci drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the first, part of a four-run inning, and singled in a run in the fourth. Keledy went 2-for-2 with two walks, and stole three bases. Anthony Peroni went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Ryan Sparks pitched the first four innings to earn the win in his first start of the season, while reliever Nick Maglione retired all six batters he faced.

June 19, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 committed three errors, allowing three unearned runs, in losing to Hopewell Post 339, 4-3, at the Hopewell Valley High Athletic Facility.

June 17, 2015 - Steven Moticha had two hits and two RBIs as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Lawrence Post 414, 10-1, at Rich Giallella Field.

Moticha's one-out single in the second tied the game, and he eventually came around to score later in the inning to plate what proved to be the winning run. He also added an RBI single in a three-run fifth inning which broke the game open. Shane Keledy had three hits and an RBI, Jake Beyer had a two-run single in the fourth, and Kenny Zahn had two hits and an RBI for Post 31.

Anthony Francioso worked six innings, allowing just five hits, to move his record to 2-0.

June 16, 2015 - Alec Gerasimowicz threw out the potential tying run at third base in the seventh inning and Hamilton Post 31 held on to defeat Broad St. Park Post 313, 2-1, at Rich Giallella Field.

Hamilton was clinging to a one-run lead in the seventh when Gerasimowicz made a strong throw from right field to nail a runner attempting to advance from first base on a single with no outs. Reliever David Stec got the final two outs to preserve the victory.

Nick Maglione pitched 2.1 innings in relief of starter Kyle Muller to earn his first win of the season, while Stec worked 2.2 innings to notch his second save. Anthony Francioso and Steven Moticha singled in runs with two outs in the fourth to help Post 31 overcome a 1-0 deficit.

June 14, 2015 - Jake Beyer had two hits and two RBIs, and Ryan Sparks scored two runs, as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Bordentown Post 26, 5-2, at Rich Giallella Field.

Beyer's two-run single in the second inning helped Post 31 take a 2-1 lead. He singled, stole a base, and eventually scored on a wild pitch in the fourth to push the lead to 5-2. Sparks scored Hamilton's first run of the game, and in the third singled, stole second, and scored on Nick Giori's single.

Sean O'Boyle worked six innings to earn his second win of the season, while Kyle Muller pitched the seventh to earn his first save.

June 13, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 left nine runners on base in losing to Trenton Post 93, 1-0, at Wetzel Field.

Steven Loney (1-1) was the losing pitcher.

June 9, 2015 - Anthony Francioso tossed a complete-game three-hitter as Hamilton Post 31 defeated North Hamilton, 5-1, at Rich Giallella Field.

Hamilton scored twice in the second inning on back-to-back RBI doubles by Ryan Sparks and David Stec, Shane Keledy scored on a wild pitch in the third, and Hamilton added its final two runs on an error in the fourth.

Francioso allowed a run in the third, then retired 14 of the final 16 batters he faced to earn his first win of the season.

June 8, 2015 - Anthony Peroni had two hits and three RBIs, and Ryan Sparks and Anthony Francioso had two RBIs apiece as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Hightstown Post 148, 11-3, at Rich Giallella Field.

Peroni had a two-run single to open Hamilton's scoring in the first inning and Sparks added an RBI single to complete the three-run frame. Peroni's sacrifice fly added a run in a five-run second. Sparks and Francioso drove in runs in the fourth as Hamilton extended its lead.

Kyle Muller pitched six innings to earn the win, striking out four batters.

June 7, 2015 - Sean O'Boyle struck out eight batters in his first career start and Shane Keledy had two hits and two RBIs as Hamilton Post 31 defeated West Windsor-Plainsboro, 7-2, at West Windsor-Plainsboro South High.

Hamilton scored five runs in the second. Keledy, Ryan Sparks, and Anthony Peroni drove in runs with singles, while Kenny Zahn and Jake Beyer drew bases-loaded walks. Post 31 added single runs in the sixth on a Keledy single and in the seventh on Nick Giori's groundout.

O'Boyle worked five innings, allowing two runs while walking only one batter. David Stec pitched two innings of relief to earn his first save.

June 4, 2015 - Steven Loney struck out eight batters and allowed just one run in 5.2 innings of work as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Ewing Post 314, 8-1, at Rich Giallella Field.

Anthony Peroni had two hits and three RBIs and Shane Keledy had two hits and scored two runs as Post 31 garnered its first victory of the season. Keledy sparked a five-run first inning with a leadoff single and scored the game's first run on a wild pitch. Peroni, Jake Beyer, Jake Muller, and Kenny Zahn had RBIs in the frame.

Sean O'Boyle got the final four outs in relief of Loney, striking out three, to earn his first save of the season.

June 3, 2015 - Hamilton Post 31 committed four errors and left 15 runners on base in its season-opening 5-2 loss to Allentown at Rich Giallella Field.

The defeat was Post 31's first in a season opener since 2009.
