2019 SEASON IN REVIEW . . .

July 28, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31's season came to an end with a 4-1 loss to Whitehouse Post 284 in the New Jersey Final Eight at Kean University's Jim Hynes Stadium.

July 27, 2019 - Despite two hits and two RBIs from Matt Sangillo, Hamilton Post 31 fell to West Deptford Post 100, 5-3, in the New Jersey Final Eight at Kean University's Jim Hynes Stadium.

July 26, 2019 - Tommy Gater threw his second consecutive postseason shutout as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Lawrence Post 414, 2-0, in the New Jersey Final Eight at Kean University's Jim Hynes Stadium.

Gater allowed just four hits in running his record to 6-3 with his fourth shutout of the sesaon.

Hamilton scored both of its runs in the sixth inning as Matt Sangillo scored on a throwing error and a Jordan Nitti sacrifice fly plated Brady Plunkett.

July 23, 2019 - Brady Plunkett had three hits and three RBIs, and Ryan Beczo pitched three scoreless innings in relief as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Clinton Post 188, 13-4, in the District 2 Tournament at Bob DeMeo Field. The victory advances Hamilton to the state Final Eight for the third consecutive season.

Danny Melnick and Brendan James had two RBIs for Post 31. Beczo struck out four and allowed only one hit.

July 21, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 jumped out to an early lead, but sloppy defensive play allowed seven unearned runs in a 10-2 loss to Hopewell Post 339 in the New Jersey District 2 Tournament at Bob DeMeo Field.

July 20, 2019 - Tommy Gater threw a three-hitter, striking out eight, to lead Hamilton Post 31 to a 1-0 victory over Toms River South Post 129 in the opening game of the New Jersey District 2 Tournament at Bob DeMeo Field.

Ryan Beczo drove in the game's only run with a two-out, fourth-inning single to score Jack Hardiman, who doubled two batters earlier.

Gater worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the first, then cruised the rest of the way to earn his fifth win of the season.

July 16, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Ewing Post 314, 7-6, at Rich Giallella Field.

Michael James and Matt Sangillo singled to start the inning, then Jordan Nitti singled to close the gap to one run. After Danny Melnick was walked intentionally, Brendan James singled to tie the score, then Jack Hardiman lined a 3-2 pitch to the wall in deep left to win the game.

Anthony Wilk pitched the seventh inning to earn the win.

July 14, 2019 - Shane Grant pitched a complete-game shutout as Hamilton Post 31 defeated West Windsor-Plainsboro, 4-0, at Rich Giallella Field.

Grant allowed just five hits in earning his fifth victory of the season.

Danny Melnick, Michael James, and Jordan Nitti had RBIs for Post 31.

July 13, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat South Brunswick Post 401, 3-2, at Rowland Park.

Matt Sangillo's one-out single scored two runs to tie the game, then Brady Plunkett singled in Michael James for what proved to be the winning run.

Anthony Wilk picked up the win in relief of starter Matt Marcille. Brendan James earned his fourth save of the season.

July 12, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 lost to Bordentown Post 26, 5-0, at Gilder Park.

July 10, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 rallied from a 3-1 deficit to defeat Lawrence Post 414, 5-3, at Rich Giallella Field.

Brady Plunkett had two hits and an RBi to lead Post 31. Jack Hardiman had two RBIs for Hamilton.

Ryan Conover pitched five innings to earn the win. Ryan Beczo threw two scoreless frames for his first save of the season.

July 8, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31's 12-game winning streak came to an end in a 9-2 loss to Hopewell Post 339 at Rich Giallella Field.

July 7, 2019 - Matt Sangillo had two hits and three RBIs to help lead Hamilton Post 31 to a 12-4 victory over Bordentown Post 26 at Rich Giallella Field.

Sangillo's two-out single in the third inning helped extended Post 31's lead to 5-2, then his two-run double in the sixth was part of a seven-run frame.

Shane Grant pitched 4.2 innings to earn his second victory of the year.

July 6, 2019 - Danny Melnick drove in the tying run with a two-out single in the bottom of the sixth, then scored what proved to be the winning run on a double by Brendan James as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Broad St. Park Post 313, 2-1, at Rich Giallella Field.

Tommy Gater allowed just four hits in a complete-game effort and was aided by Melnick, who threw out four potential base-stealers.

July 5, 2019 - Ryan Conover pitched into the seventh inning, allowing just three hits, and Brendan James closed for his third save in a week as Hamilton Post 31 defeated North Hamilton, 2-0, at Nottingham High.

Hamilton scored both of its runs in the first inning without benefit of an RBI. Brady Plunkett scored on a wild pitch, while Brendan James scored on the back end of a double steal.

July 2, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 rallied for five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat Washington Twp. Post 521, 7-6, in the championship game of the third annual Hamilton Holiday Classic at Bob DeMeo Field.

Brady Plunkett and Jordan Nitti drove in runs in the sixth to set the stage for Danny Melnick's game-tying, two-run double. Courtesy runner Ryan Beczo scored on an error to give Post 31 the lead for good.

Brendan James struck out two batters in the top of the seventh inning to earn his second save of the season.

July 1, 2019 - Tommy Gater allowed just one hit -- a single to the leadoff batter to start the game -- as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Hillsborough, 7-0, in the third game of the third annual Hamilton Holiday Classic at Bob DeMeo Field.

Gater struck out nine in a route-going performance. Brendan James and Jack Hardiman had back-to-back two-run doubles to spark a six-run first inning for Post 31.

Hamilton will play Washington Twp. Post 521 in the championship game at 7 p.m. tomorrow night.

June 30, 2019 - Matt Sangillo had two hits and eight assists at shortstop to lead Hamilton Post 31 over Haddon Heights Post 149, 7-1, in the second game of the third annual Hamilton Holiday Classic at Bob DeMeo Field.

Danny Melnick and Michael James had two RBIs to spark a seven-run third inning. Matt Marcille allowed just five hits in a complete-game effort.

June 29, 2019 - Jordan Nitti and Danny Melnick had back-to-back two-run doubles to spark a four-run fourth inning as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Washington Twp. Post 521, 7-5, in the opening game of the third annual Hamilton Holiday Classic at Bob DeMeo Field.

Ryan Conover went five innings to earn his third win of the season and Brendan James retired six straight batters to earn his first save.

June 28, 2019 - Brendan James' bases-loaded, two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning plated Michael James with the winning run as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Hightstown Post 148, 5-4, at Rich Giallella Field.

James lined a 2-2 pitch into left-center to make a winner of Anthony Wilk, who pitched four stellar innings of relief.

June 26, 2019 - Danny Melnick homered and drove in four runs to support the shutout pitching of Tommy Gater as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Trenton Post 93, 11-0, at South Trenton BRL.

Jordan Nitti added three RBIs for Hamilton. Gater allowed just four hits and struck out five.

June 25, 2019 - Danny Melnick had five RBIs to lead Hamilton Post 31 to a 12-2 victory over Allentown at Mercer County Park.

Jordan Nitti and Matthew Sangillo had two RBIs apiece for Post 31 to back the four-hit pitching of Matt Marcille.

June 23, 2019 - Brendan James' two-run double sparked an eight-run second inning as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Princeton Post 218, 14-4, at Smoyer Park.

Danny Melnick and Matt Sangillo also had two RBIs for Post 31. Ryan Conover pitched five innings to earn his second win of the season.

June 22, 2019 - Shane Grant threw five strong innings and Anthony Wilk finished to record his second save of the year as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Ewing Post 314, 4-0, at Moody Park.

Dan Melnick drove in two runs to lead the Hamilton offensive attack.

June 21, 2019 - Tom Gater struck out six and allowed just two hits in a losing effort as Hamilton Post 31 fell to South Brunswick Post 401, 1-0, at Rich Giallella Field.

June 17, 2019 - Ryan Conover threw a three-hit shutout as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Lawrence Post 414, 6-0, at Eggerts Crossing Field.

Conover struck out four in a route-going performance. Brady Plunkett had three hits and an RBI to lead Post 31's offensive attack.

June 16, 2019 - Joey Gmitter's two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning plated Tyler Nielsen with the winning run as Hamilton Post 31 defeated North Hamilton, 6-5, at Rich Giallella Field.

Nielsen led off the inning with a single, moved to third on an error, and scored on Gmitter's hit.

Anthony Wilk pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory.

June 15, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 was shut out, 3-0, by Hopewell Post 339 at Hopewell Valley High.

Jack Hardiman had two hits and Tom Gater pitched six strong innings for Post 31.

June 13, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 fell to Broad St. Park Post 313, 6-1, at Hamilton High.

June 9, 2019 - Tommy Gater allowed just four hits in a strong route-going performance as Hamilton Post 31 defeated West Windsor-Plainsboro, 2-1, at WW-P South High.

Brendan James and Jack Hardiman drove in the Post 31 runs. Gater was aided by two double-play balls.

Post 31 is now 5-0 for the first time since 2003.

June 8, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 squandered a six-run lead, but scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to defeat Hightstown Post 148, 9-7, at Mercer County Park.

Jack Hardiman had three hits and two RBIs and Brendan James added two RBIs for Post 31.

June 7, 2019 - Jack Hardiman's one-out single in the bottom of the seventh scored the winning run to lead Hamilton Post 31 to a 4-3 victory over Trenton Post 93 at Rich Giallella Field.

Matt Marcille threw seven strong innings to earn the victory.

June 6, 2019 - Danny Melnick and Jack Hardiman drove in two runs apiece to support a strong starting effort by Ryan Beczo as Hamilton Post 31 defeated Princeton Post 218, 6-4, at Rich Giallella Field.

June 4, 2019 - Hamilton Post 31 rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Allentown, 5-4, in Post 31's season opener at Rich Giallella Field.

Tom Gater pitched strongly into the seventh inning before tiring, and Dan Melnick and Joey Gmitter had three hits each for Hamilton.

Hamilton won its season opener for the tenth straight season.
